THE SEA
If you have not seen
all shades of blue
that spills from the eyes,
eyelashes adorned by salt crystals,
you didn’t see anything,
you have not seen the sea.
If you haven’t heard the chant
of eternity, the lullaby
that the wind is usual to give,
you didn’t hear anything,
you have not heard the sea.
If you didn’t smell the perfume
of what we were
and one to which we can
abandon again,
you did not understand anything,
you did not understand the sea.
